Outlook Inbox Loading..Loading...Loading...

Had an interesting experience this morning installing the CRM Outlook Add-in on a computer where after install the Outlook Inbox just wouldn't load after the install.  It would just keep saying "Loading...Loading..." and no matter how much coffee it still said loading....

To resolve, I went to Configuration Wizard and told it to remove the add-in, restarted outlook and sure enough the inbox was back.  I then went though the Configuration Wizard again and all was fine this time when Outlook was restarted.

It's really nice that now the configuration process is separate from the install of the client software.  If your having any problems with the Outlook Add-in, just going through the re-configure is a great option and doesn't take much time

This webinar replay even has more than a little excitement in it. At about 50 minutes, we lost the voice phone bridge. You can either skip forward about three minutes, at which time we restored the audio or you can enjoy the drama in my voice as I switch first to ...

Did you only get this issue once? I'm getting it over and over w/ the offline enabled Outlook client - so I went with the online only version. Seems OK for now, but would ultimately like to get the issue resolved.

Thanks,
Lawrence

I have actually seen it with both clients - I actualy have an active support case open currently and have been working to identitfy the problem. It seems to come and go.

I have found that you can disable the CRM admin, restart outlook and it will be fine. That gets a little old so the other work around is on the Trust Center turn on security - I have found that the slight delay seems to allow the inbox to load and then you just approve the CRMaddin working.

My guess is there's a timing issue with the Add-in that needs to be resolved but identifying the specific seems to be challenging.

Thanks for the pointer. Not totally sure what you mean by disabling the CRM admin - are you talking about disabling the COM add-in via the trust center and then re-enabling it when you've restated Outlook? That seems to work OK for me, but it is a tedious process and I need to remember to disable the add-in before shutting down Outlook.

Just enabling macro security doesn't seem to do help.

If you're able to figure out what is causing this, could you let me know?

Thanks,
Lawrence

Yeah I will be blogging it once I hear back from suppoort - they have taken a few dumps to the outlook team - it seems to be somethign that is timing related during those first few seconds of startup

Do you have any further update on this. It is a problem we seem to be suffering with on an almost permanent basis.

Thanks
