Phishing and Salesforce.com

Salesforce.com joins Monster.com in being suckered into helping people criminals exploit data for unintended use.  Mike Snyder points out that you need to make sure you trust the company hosting your data.  I think that's a great point, but I also think both of these highlight the sophistication of what people are attempting to get at data illegally.  Both of these were online data services, but if you read about the attacks they could happen just as easily to companies who host their own data.  Our weakest link is our people....

Today, it's Salesforce.com's turn to be in the headlines and clearly they have some things put in place internally to reduce their exposure, but there's an important message to all of us to be on the lookout.  Take a few moments and look at the type of e-mails that were sent out and some of the suggestions to avoid - you can read more here.

I know that many of the people that read my blog, are consultants or provide services to others, this is a good wake up for all of us too to be on the ball and on the lookout.
